Each year, we perform a survey by helicopter to take a census and monitor our wildlife. Here are some of the photos from the 2004 and also our 2003 count. The photos are mostly of large "management bucks", however, we do have plenty of does and pigs.
The major feature of our South Texas ranch is that we have a high deer-proof fence, and that we are in a deer management program. We produce what we call "management bucks" meaning the number of deer harvested each year is controlled, also we provide supplemental feed to our deer to help them grow to their fullest potential. Each year, we also have a limited number of "Trophy Bucks" who have a superior antler spread, as compared to typical bucks. These "Trophy Bucks" are available on a first-come basis.
